    Preserve The Union
              ( Patriotism  and Patronage. )
Limited Powers  were  delegated  to  Federal Government  for  Defense  of  choices  and  property.  Political Power  competes  against  voluntary co‑operation,  and  subjugates  people  by  temptation.
Alexander Hamilton  proposed  to  pay  State Debts  with  Import Tariff  revenue,  to  bribe  independent States  to  ratify  the  Constitution  and  create  The Union  of  States.
Federal  Import Tariff  Revenue  was  the  temptation  for  bribes  and  a  time bomb,  inflicted  repeatedly.  These  abominations  aroused  protests  to  Secede  from  that  Union. The  Union  is  useful— to  whom;  for  what  purpose?  American Patriots  United  for  their common defense  against the tyranny  of  British domination— to  gain  independence  and  freedom.
Hamilton,  Jefferson,  Lincoln,  John C. Calhoun,  and Jefferson Davis  were American Patriots.  Alexander Hamilton  dedicated his life  to preserve the union.  He detested dueling,  but  chose  to  duel  Aaron Burr— to  preserve  his credibility— to  defeatSecession advocates.
Why  did  Hamilton  and  Lincoln  want  to  preserve  the Union?  Why did the  O’Leary family  of  chicago,  want to preserve their  Milk Cow?  The milk of  human kindness  may flow  in the  veins of  those who mind their own business  and  volunteer  to  help those  who appreciate  the help.   “ There were a bunch  of  old reformers,  up in Heaven,  making them  go to bed  at eleven.”
Alexander Hamilton  was  the  reformer  who  proposed  the  Whiskey Tax  to  pay expenses  of  U.S. Government.  The  Whiskey Tax  was  lauded  as  patriotic.  When  his  meddling  taxed  the peddling  of  liquified  corn,  chaotic  contention  erupted!  Traitorous Farmers,  tarred of  Tax Revenuers,  feathered  their nests.  George Washington and  Thirteen thousand Federal soldiers  quelled  contumely farmers  in Western Pennsylvania.  Legions to  the Union  stilled the revolt  and squeezed the tax  to  fund Tea Totalitarians.
Why did  Jefferson Davis  fight an agonizing battle in  Congress  to  prevent  secession?  Why did he  lead the states  which seceded,  to  defend  the Constitutional Rights  of  the  Nation  they had withdrawn from?  The  Constitutional Union Party  stood for  “ the  Constitution of  the country,  the Union  of  the states  and the enforcement of  the laws.”  John Bell,  of  Tennessee,  was nominated  the candidate  for President,  at the Constitutional Union Convention  in Baltimore,  May, 1860.
Why did  Jefferson and  John C. Calhoun  promote  Secession?
Abraham Lincoln  “drafted three short resolutions”  and  “ instructed William Seward to introduce these proposals  in the Senate Committee of Thirteen.”  [ Page 296. ]   William Seward’s  passionate speech to the U.S. Congress  was   to set forth the advantages,  the necessities to the people . . .  and the vast calamities to them and to the world  which its destruction would involve.”   “As he moved into the second hour of his speech,  Seward offered the concessions he hoped might stem the tide of secession.”   He began with Lincoln’s resolutions  calling for a constitutional amendment  to prevent any future Congress  from interfering with slavery  where it already existed  and suggesting a repeal of all personal liberty laws  in opposition to the  Fugitive Slave Law.”  [ Page 296.  Team of Rivals,  Doris Kearns-Goodwin.]
Perhaps Hamilton and Lincoln had read the  King James Bible,  Luke 2:  “A  decree  from Caesar Augustus,”  was  sent  out  “ that  all the world was to be taxed.”  The  Union  must  be  created— to  be Taxed.  The  Union  must  be  Preserved—  to  be Taxed.  Hamilton and Lincoln  (and  various political candidates)  want to  Milk  the Cow(s)  of  Tax Collection.  The  Cows  must  be  enticed  to  join the Union,  and  prevented  from  Seceeding  to  avoid  Receding  Tax Revenue.
Each of us has our own agenda.  The reverence that we have for the Union  is  framed  in  the perspective  that serves  our  own Goals.  “ The Fatherland”  was  Adolf Hitler’s  concern.  Hitler’s  ambition  to  enlarge  his sphere of  influence  is  well  documented.  Examine the motivation  of the most concupiscent patriots,  admired for their struggle to preserve the Union.  Did they promote popular majorities  to destroy freedoms  and subjugate  minorities of citizens?  Dictatorship has always been popular.  Most every dictatorship has been democratic.  Hitler was elected by popular majority.  And re-elected by a greater majority!
The Wealthy”  are a minority.  Presidential candy-dates  promise tax-funded goodies  to the democratic majority.  Ignorant schoolchildren were encouraged to celebrate  Constitution Weak  in government schools.  The United States Constitution  was written to limit the (Enforcement) Power  of the Federal Government  which was to be created,  when Independent States  ratified that Constitution.   The Bill of Rights”  is emphasized.  Limitation of government power is clarified by specific examples,  which are excluded from government restriction.  Yet,  these examples are interpreted as “ Privileges,”  when taught by government employees.
Purpose is crucial.  Perhaps the United States Constitution is a refinement  from barbaric jungle tribes.  Peaceful relations are achieved by the psychological pacification of those who must submit to enforced decrees and tax tribute.  Brutal conflict is avoided by democratic elections.  Saddam Hussein  violated the principle of Majority approval.  Ethnic Cleansing of minority tribes  is consistent with majority power.
Perhaps  the United States Constitution is a refinement— to defend Peaceful relations by arresting violators?  Brutal conflict is minimized by arrest of those who violate peaceful relations by:  assault,  robbery,  fraud,  and failure to perform agreements.
Contrast  the status of productive citizens in each State.  Producers who are not members of a voting majority  are traitors  when they do not obey the mandates enacted by the majority.  Southern Americans who sold products to Northern Americans  were privileged to keep the payments.  Southern Americans who sold products to foreign customers  were Taxed.
It is alleged that:  We are created Equal.  Most people do not grow as Tall as  John Kenneth Galbraith.  Most people earn less than the Minority— who earn more.  Senator Edwards  and the democratic Majority of people  could vote to increase Taxation on the Minority of  Tall citizens.  Perhaps Shorter people would vote to exempt  “ the Wealthy.”  Tall people would be the Minority,  who may earn Less.  Democratic Voting Power of the Majority  would be nullified by the concept of Individual Right to Private Ownership of one’s productivity.  You could take it to the Bank,  or to the Tax Collector,  depending on your Interpretation of the Constitution.
Abraham Lincoln chose to declare war on those who were traitors to the Union of democratic Majority Power.  Jefferson Davis struggled to preserve the Union of  Individuals  dedicated to defend:  Life,  Liberty,  and Pursuit of Happiness.  The Union of Abraham Lincoln  enacted Tax Legislation  specific to Minority Farmers  and Majority Manufacturers.  The Constitution of the Confederate Union  specified a  small,  uniform import tax;  and free trade:  Article I.  Sec. 8.
Good   is personal,  Ayn Rand  wrote in  The Virtue of Selfishness:  Good— to whom and Good— for what purpose?
